About
Monad is a Layer 1 blockchain with full EVM bytecode and Ethereum RPC compatibility. Solidity contracts, EVM addresses, and existing tooling and libraries work on it without modification.
Performance targets are 10,000 TPS, 400ms block times, and 800ms finality. The chain uses MonadBFT consensus, parallel execution with JIT compilation, asynchronous pipelining of consensus and execution, and a custom storage layer (MonadDB) for Ethereum state. The stated goal is consumer-grade hardware for validators.
Ecosystem includes MonadScan, MonadVision, and the Gmonads explorer, plus accelerator programs (Mach Accelerator, evm/accathon, Monad Madness, Monad Momentum).
