Founded in 2019 (formerly Laika) and headquartered in New York City, the company combines AI-infused software with in-house expert auditing services across 20+ frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI DSS, and GDPR. Thoropass is also a licensed CPA firm, conducting audits in-house.
The company was co-founded by Y Combinator alumni Sam Li and Austin Ogilvie alongside Eva Pittas (20 years in global risk at Citigroup). Thoropass has raised approximately $98M in total funding, including a $50M Series C in 2022 led by Fin Capital with participation from J.P. Morgan Growth Equity Partners.
The platform automates evidence collection, integrates with customer tech stacks, and applies AI/LLM technology to compliance workflows. Engineering roles are available remotely across the US and Latin America.
