ShakaCode is a Ruby on Rails and React consultancy focused on web performance work. Tagline on the site: "We make slow web apps fast." Engagements run from Web Vitals and Lighthouse audits through full-stack Rails/React builds, with a smaller line of Rust data engineering work.

Founded in 2011 by Justin Gordon, creator of the open-source react_on_rails gem. The team still maintains React on Rails and Shakapacker, and sells React on Rails Pro as a commercial tier. They also run HiChee, a price-comparison search for vacation rentals, as their own product.

Headquartered in Paia, Hawaii, with a remote global workforce. Past client work includes HVMN, SkyVerge, Popmenu, Blue Moon Digital, Datacenters.com, Printivity, and Jilt.
